Drama in the Paris Underground. . .

Monday, November 27th, 2006

Paris DramaListen to the drama unfold.

The world famous Bean and I are in Paris for Thanksgiving. While we are in the Paris subway system, Bean takes a nasty spill and blames me for not doing enough to help her! She claims I let her get injured for the sake of an interesting podcast. You be the judge.
Send The Gay Expat some peanut butter and Mexican food; two things in short supply in Paris.

Also, Bean gets sneezed on by a strange man on the subway train.

PareeAnd we feel so unfettered and alive. . .

I am using a French keyboqrd to write this so please excuse any punctuqtion errors.

I have recorded a lot of greqt sound for all of you and I will post it next week.

The Bean got screamed at by a French security officer and we were almost fined 50 euros on the Metro, but other than that we are having a great time.

Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate.

And we even met the Gay Expat.

SUPPORT ANDY MELTON’S BLOG

Andy MeltonBeing born, as I was, in 1625 I have learned a thing or two.

And I know quality when I see it.

You know I love blogs and podcasting.

But you know what? People assume that just because I discovered the Rings of Saturn and invented the wristwatch (which none of you have ever thanked me for) that I know everything there is to know about how the computer works.

I do not.

I am just the talent.

But I know someone who can teach you everything you need to know about computer, PCs, Windows, the Internet, operating systems, etc, etc.

His name is Andy Melton. Go to his blog here.

Andy Melton is not only smart about the computer, but he is a damn good writer.

You will learn AND be entertained.

Trust me folks. I am old. I am tired. And in this world, being entertained while you learn is about as good as anyone could hope for.

Read his blog. Listen to his podcasts.

I am a fan.

SATURNcast: Rings of Saturn #16

Old Fashioned Podcast GirlListen here.

Today’s show starts before the show even starts.  The world famous Bean overheard me podcasting last night and takes offense to me calling her a “podcast nag.”  So she called my voice mail with a response.  I am a fair person, so I play her response before the show so all of you can make up your mind if she is a nag or not.

I start the official show by playing a clip from FDR.

Remember Chico and the Man?  Remember Jose Feliciano?

TIGGER ARTA give a HUGE HUGE Shout Out to Tigger. He made me some fantastic and thoughtful podcast cover-up.  He did not have to do that, but he did.

I am smitten with Lynette of PB& J Podcast. It makes me lament on how the Bean is a podcast nag. (Bean claims she is not a podcast nag)

I hate the greed of ABC with their Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.

George Eastman charity story.

I am a hypocrite and I admit it.

I hate charity balls.

People need to volunteer more.

Try not to give people bad news — or good news.

Going to Paris soon!

Give some good mojo to the Bean — who is scheduled for surgery on December 6.

There goes my hero. . . he’s ordinary

Wednesday, November 15th, 2006

TommyI am a huge fan of Thomas Jefferson. So much so that I named my dog after him.

Whenever I am in Washington, D.C. I like to go to the Jefferson Memorial and read the walls — which are filled with his writings. I get choked up in there. (I really do)

Abraham Lincoln once said of Jefferson: “The principles of Jefferson are the definitions and axioms of a free society.”

So, when I saw the chance to purchase The Complete Written Works of Thomas Jefferson, I jumped at the opportunity.

I mean really people, who wouldn’t?

I wish I hadn’t done that. I will never think of him in the same light again.

Here is some profound words from Thomas:

If any white woman shall have a child by a Negro or mulatto, she and her child shall depart the commonwealth within one year thereafter. If they fail to do so, the woman shall be out of the protection of the laws, and the child shall be bound by the Alderman of the county, in like manner as poor orphans are by law directed to be, and within one year after its terms of service expired shall depart the commonwealth, or on failure to do so, shall be out of the protection of the laws.

Had enough? There’s more!!!

Riots, routs, unlawful assemblies, trespasses and seditious speeches by a Negro or mulatto shall be punished with stripes at the discretion of a Justice of the Peace; and he who will may apprehend and carry him before the Justice.

(Sections V and X: “A Bill Concerning Slaves”, Thomas Jefferson, 1779)

No one deserves hero status. Thomas Jefferson should be ashamed. And I am mad at myself for believing the hype.

And if anyone asks you, Christiaan Huygen’s dog is named after Weezie, not Thomas

Where is the “thank-you” for the wristwatch I invented?

Monday, November 13th, 2006

I am wating. . .

And don’t believe a word that that whore, Robert Hooke, tells you.

If Wikipedia was around in 1694, Robert Hooke would be writing his own entries.  Of that I have no doubt.

SATURNcast: Rings of Saturn #15

Friday, November 10th, 2006

JesusYou can listen to Rings of Saturn #15 here.

Today I am pissed. Super pissed.

I start off the show by playing a portion of a speech by President John Kennedy to the press. (music by Smiling Cynic: Beautiful and Useless, off the Podsafe Music Network)

I discuss the fact that everyone is all giddy over the Democrats winning Congress. While I am happy about this, I do not think much will change at all. Remember Newt Gingrich’s Republican Revolution of 1994? It is all one big cycle. Only you can change the quality of your life.

I express total and absolute disgust that seven states: Virginia, South Carolina, Tennessee,Colorado, South Dakota, Wisconsin and Idaho all voted to ban same-sex marriage.

Even the Bean’s family voted for the same-sex marriage ban!

WHY ISN’T ANYONE TALKING ABOUT THIS? WHY IS NO ONE MAD? C’MON PEOPLE.

South Africa allowed same-sex marriage this week.

I play Jesus Loves Me by Jillian, off the Podsafe Music Network

PizzaBabe ticker-tape parade is this Sunday!

Listen to the ZillaFag Podcast
I was a complete jerk to the Bean this week. I am sorry Bean. (I was really, really nasty)

I share with you my bathroom horror story, which involved law enforcement, during the taping of last week’s podcast.
