Host: Christiaan Huygens
HELLO, My name is Christiaan Huygens and you are reading the first ever blog from the planet, Saturn. The is the companion blog for my podcast SATURNcast — the only blog transmitting from Saturn (to the best of my knowledge).
Some things about me: I am Dutch, I am old and I am brilliant. Do you know that I discovered the origin of the rings of Saturn, that I discovered the Saturn moon Titan, that I played a large role in the development of calculus and that I invented the modern-day wrist watch?
Of course you didn’t — not many people do. It pisses me off.
A few years ago I got so bitter at the world that I found a way to get to Saturn. But while I was smart enough to get to Saturn, I haven’t figured out a way to get back.
So I am stuck. . .
All I have is a computer, the Internet and some microwavable popcorn. It is boring. Saturn is a hot and gassy planet — so I spend most of my days being hot and gassy.
I am bored out of my mind.
So, in an effort to find something to do I decided to start my podcast which will air once a week (when the transmission from Saturn to Earth is available) and to start this daily blog.
I will share with you all of my brilliant thoughts and ideas.
Thank you for joining me. And it you stumble upon a way to get me back to Earth, I could sure use your help.
Yours truly,
Christiaan Huygens
